Today, we’re diving into an incredibly basic game that is seriously engaging.

Counting, Together

tl;dr // This game involves you standing in a circle and counting to 20 (with your eyes closed) 👀. If two people say a number at the same time, you restart.

Goal

  • Concentrate and stay present (aka get out of your head)

  • Focus on working as a team towards a common goal

    • There’s no individual winning. Everyone must win together.

How to play

  1. All players stand in a circle and close their eyes

    Optional: Turn the lights off in the room

  2. Any player begins by saying ‘One’

  3. A different player says ‘Two’ and so on until you hit ‘Twenty’

    • There is no order for who says the next highest number. It happens randomly.

    • Sometimes you have extended silence between numbers. That’s okay!

  4. If two or more players say the same number at the same time, everyone restarts.

  5. After making it to ‘Twenty,’ everyone will clap and sigh in relief.

Use Cases

  • Starting/ending a team meeting

  • Works with people who know each other, and also strangers

3+ (ideally around 8ish)
